Grunge Basics 煙霧碼布

I wasn’t sure if the “grunge” look would work for a modern quilt, but the mottled, smoky grey tones actually softened all my brighter prints. The hand is surprisingly nice and it pressed flat with almost no effort.

The washed-out, smoky finish on this fabric is exactly what I needed to tone down some busier prints—it blends in perfectly without disappearing. The hand feels nicely substantial, and the yardage cut was generous with no flaws.

I grabbed a few yards of this for a quilt backing, and the subtle, dusty texture pairs beautifully with bright prints. The fabric has a nice, soft hand and pressed out smoothly without any weird creasing.
