Turned out way better than I expected—my seam ripper has this nice weight to it from hand-turning on the lathe, and the handle feels smooth in my fingers. It’s genuinely fun to use now, even for quick snips.

I was nervous about using the lathe for the first time, but the instructor’s step-by-step guidance made shaping the handle surprisingly easy. The finished seam ripper feels solid and perfectly weighted in my hand.

Turning a brass ring on the lathe was way more satisfying than I expected—the finished tool feels perfectly balanced in my hand. Already used it to rip out a crooked hem, and it glides through stitches without snagging. I’m hooked on woodturning now and can’t wait to book another class.
