I expected a normal cotton but this stuff really does feel like suede, soft with that brushed, almost velvety hand. The burgundy cherrywood yardage has this suede-like hand that's hard to believe is 100% cotton. I used it for a quilted tote and the depth of color makes it look way more expensive than it was. Already eyeing another color for a jacket.

I was worried a hand-dyed cotton would feel stiff, but it drapes almost like suede and the burgundy shade has this subtle variation that looks rich under low light. I used it for a quilt binding and the fabric pressed beautifully without losing that soft hand.
