Fils de Grâce - Principal - Gris moyen - Yardage

I was worried the blossoms might look too busy, but the scale of the flowers is just right for a throw quilt. The soft gray ground is even more versatile in person, and the fabric has a lovely hand for piecing.

The blossoms and leaves are so finely drawn they look almost hand-painted, and the medium gray base is neutral enough to work with both warm and cool quilting palettes. Cut into fat quarters, the pattern scales nicely without getting lost. I'm already planning a second order for a backing fabric.

The gray base is more muted in person than on screen, which works perfectly for a quiet quilt backing. The blossoms and leaves print is crisp and the yardage feels substantial without being stiff. Only wish it came in wider bolts so I didn't have to piece as many seams.
