I was worried this would feel stiff like regular quilting cotton, but it's got this soft suede-like nap that makes it a dream for pillow covers. The light blue has subtle depth from the hand-dyeing, so it doesn't look flat or cheap in person.

The hand-dyed finish really does look like suede, and the light blue has this soft depth that changes depending on the light. I used it for a quilted cushion cover and it pressed beautifully without losing any color.

I didn't expect a cotton fabric to feel this much like suede, but the hand-dyed finish gives it a really soft, rich texture. The light blue has subtle variations across the yard, which made my quilted pillow covers look way more expensive than they were.
